WHITE-NUNN Hilary Jocelyn Matthews Was born in Fiji on September 14, 1941, to Frank and Tess White.
Hilary died peacefully at her home in Victoria on September 25, 2007. Left to cherish her memory are her children Lockhart, Evadne, Deirdre and Julie-Anne, grandchildren Madeleine and William, her brother Franklin White, her niece and nephews Genevieve, Bernard and Alexander. She will be fondly remembered also by many other loving relatives and her very dear friends. Hilary lived with a passion for life and with a deep appreciation for both the wildness of nature and the delicate intricacies of human cultures.
Hilary combined her earlier professional ballet career of performance and teaching with her work in Anthropology to reconstruct and present fragments of historical dance and theatre. She continues to study regularly with top dance and theatre historians in Europe and to bring back their latest findings to Victoria.
She founded Movimento! Early Dance & Theatre Society of Victoria in 2002 to provide support for Victoria’s first early dance ensemble.
